Kara lived attached to a chain since she was 6 months old. The family lived in a rental home and was not able to keep her indoors. They truly loved Kara and realized it was not fair to keep her living like this. She was chained in the front yard and was continually teased by children. Kara became very afraid of strangers and would bark at them and show her teeth. Our volunteer knew Kara was a sweet dog and was only frightened. It took only a few visits for our volunteer to work with Kara and gain her trust. Once Kara was comfortable with our volunteer, she was taken to a vet to get ready for a new life.
We partnered with Lab Rescue of Tulsa who took Kara into foster care and found Kara a wonderful home. This is a picture of Kara just before she was adopted.
